Q: What is the Dress Code for My Class?

A: The mandatory dress code policy at Capistrano Academy of Dance facilitates a focused, high-energy classroom environment. After the first week of classes at our studio, any student who is not dressed according to the dress code will be asked to leave class. No refunds provided, no exceptions. The dress code for each class is as follows...

BALLET
• Hair in a bun, pink tights for everyone, black leotard for girls ages 5+ and pink leotard for preschoolers. NO SKIRTS/TUTUS. Pink, leather or canvas ballet shoes.

TAP
• Black leotard, tan or pink tights, hair pulled back in bun or ponytail and a skirt or shorts may be worn over leotard and tights. Beige tap shoes for preschoolers through 6/7 year old combo classes. Black oxford tap shoes for everyone else.

JAZZ/LYRICAL
• Solid black jazz pants, dance shorts, form fitted tank and/or leotard. Hair pulled back in ponytail or bun. Beige jazz shoes and/or dance paws for lyrical.







HIP HOP
• Black jazz pant, t-shirt and hair pulled back in ponytail. Jazz tennis shoes or converse type tennis shoes dedicated for dance class.

MUSICAL THEATER
• Solid black jazz pants, dance shorts, form fitted tank and/or leotard. Hair pulled back in ponytail or bun. Black jazz shoes.

ACRO/TUMBLING
• Tumbling/gymnastics style leotard, any color. No shoes, no tights. Shorts worn over the leotard acceptable. Hair pulled back in a slick ponytail.
